..satu,dua,cucuk!!..

..scratch,scratch..

..scratch,scratch..

..good lord!im feeling itchy on my elbow,my thigh..and there's a small red swelling on the nape of my neck...scratch,scratch..

..lately i've been getting all these itchiness and red marks all over my body.nothing severe though.eventually these marks goes off after a few days.then it comes back again.ive been scratching in the lrt (with much discreet,of course) and in the office (not in view of others,thank god for the room) and sometimes this itchiness even "attacked" while im driving!! (talk about timing?!)

..initially i thot it was due to my negligence to vacuum my room every sunday (currently i vaccumed once a fortnight) or there might be hidden microscopic-size insects in my clothings or shoes (it even "attacks" my toes!!).or maybe i need to change my mattress (old mattress=bed bugs).

..today,being the ignorant me of the current issues and picking on articles when reading the paper,a thot hit me.

..could it be that i've been bitten by a dengue mosquito?!! ..scratch,scratch..

..i remember the time my brother,Ismat was down with fever.we (me & my mum) thot that it was just the normal fever and we didnt get him checked by the doctor.instead we gave him paracetamol (thats panadol in case u dont know,hehehe) and 100plus (my mum has this idea that 100plus helps to cool down the body temp).the fever went down but re-occurred with sky high temp that my mum dashed straight to the nearest specialist,Hospital Selayang.

..imagine our horror when the doctor diagnosed my brother with dengue.my mum nearly fainted!my brother was warded and my mum took leave from work for almost 2 weeks.i was travelling back n forth to the hospital.ive never seen my brother in such grave condition.the doctors had to do a blood transfusion and at a point he was nearly admitted to ICU.i cried whenever i visited him.i regretted all those time i scolded him and snapped at him.he can be a pest at times but that doesnt justify me to be harsh at him.

.so when he was fully recovered,i tried my best to fulfill his every wish.the first thing i did was to take him to Pizza Hut.then took him to the movies.what if i were to "go off" suddenly?my brother would never know that i love him and i didnt mean all the harsh things i said to him.

..mum took all precaution to ensure our house was dengue-free.and they said lightning dont strike twice at the same spot.but it wasnt so when my younger brother,immran was down with high temp fever.so,we were back again to Hospital Selayang.

..thankfully,immran's case wasnt as severe as ismat.so,after thorough checking,immran aka ben was released without having to be warded.you can imagine the amount of dengue-related medicine we have in stock.2 case within a year and only few months apart..it made me treasure all the times i have with my family especially my two bratty-lovable (hik!) brothers.

..so,with the dengue warning out,we should all take extra measures to ensure:

1.there's no "contained" water in pots or any form of large containers

2.ensure all drains are UNclogged

3.any case of high fever should be checked at the nearest hospital

4.clear all bushes or any place that might be prone to dengue larvae breeding

..with the help of fogging from the health dept and by us doing our part,we could help lessen the risk of the outbreak getting worse.so,malaysia..please do your part.take this seriously 'cause it is DAMN WELL serious..
